New seaside hotel to be built with the highest standards in regard to sustainability.

Roxy Resort will be part of the new recreational area south of Køge Strand, near Køge Marina. The seaside hotel, which focuses on spa and wellness, will be spread over 10,000 m² on three floors and a basement of 552 m². The hotel will offer around 150 rooms, with additional facilities such as meeting rooms, a restaurant, an outdoor spa area, an orangery and a large relaxation area.

The architecture is characterized by simplicity and the use of pure materials. Large glass sections on the ground floor invite daylight in and create a natural link between the indoor and outdoor environment. In the evening, the orangery and spa area will be illuminated, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The roof terrace on the northern wing offers a unique panoramic view of the sea, the beach and the surrounding forests.

The building has a strong focus on sustainability, especially in terms of energy consumption, biodiversity and working environment. The hotel is built to the highest sustainability standards and minimizes CO₂ emissions by, among other things, connecting to district heating that is primarily powered by wood waste. In addition, bio-waste is recycled to ensure a lower environmental footprint.

To create a functional and environmentally friendly design, the project utilised simple yet effective design principles. The load-bearing structures above the ground floor consist of prefabricated elements such as columns, beams, walls and hollow decks. Solutions such as DELTABEAM® Green Composite Beams and PETRA® Green Exchange Beams were chosen to reduce emissions and promote greener construction. In addition, SUMO® Wall Shoes and steel components from Peikko were used to ensure stability and quality.
